A few weeks ago we drove out to California to go to a baby shower for a close family friend. Along the way we pass the salt flats and usually we just drive right by, but this time we decided to stop. It was a different experience. They were full of water. It gives it such a different look. It almost feels like your standing by the ocean (except that it smells like 50x saltier). It seems to go on forever. Here are some pictures…
We stopped in Winnemucca for gas and the sunset was so beautiful. This picture doesn’t do it justice.
We arrived at my Grandma’s house pretty late but the next morning we got up and went out.
One of my favorite things to do when we visit my Grandma is to go antique shopping together. This particular one is called Cheshire Antiques, it’s in Gardnerville, NV. It’s huge. There are so many old and beautiful things to look at (I particularly like the old teacups). And the employees are the nicest people ever.
And of course lunch with some of my favorite people at Cheesecake Factory.
The next day we got up and headed to California. I of course had to stop at Lake Tahoe. It’s one of my favorite places to go. We took a few pictures and picked up a few pinecones, then kept driving.
We finally made it to the baby shower and oh my goodness it was adorable. It was completely halloween themed. Complete with adorable treats and decorations.
Alyssa is the beautiful mom to be. Our Grandmothers are best friends, our moms grew up together and so naturally we are friends as well. 🙂 It was so good to see so many of our family and friends and to celebrate the new baby!
Congrats Alyssa and Emil!
